Job Description (JR:18151) The position of Postdoctoral Fellow - with an emphasis on computational cancer genomics - is immediately available at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (a part of National University of Singapore).The Postdoctoral Fellow will work with the laboratories of Professor Ashok Venkitaramanon a project studying the evolution of cancer genomes during early steps in carcinogenesis with the long-term aim to develop better methods for early intervention.

Candidates are expected to develop an innovative research program to tackle basic and/or applied problems by inventing and applying new experimental technologies, machine learning algorithms, quantitative modeling, and data-driven and mechanistic causal modeling approaches to dissect and predict immune system processes and their interaction with physiological systems.

Candidates need to be able to understand statistical modelling, have a strong mathematical background, and be fluent in R programming or Python coding. The candidate will be working with the Principal Investigator(s) on model development and refinement.

The research assistant will support the effort in conducting cutting-edge neuroscience and machine learning research and development. He/she has the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques, data collection and analysis, with healthy participants and patients with neuropsychiatric diseases. He/she will be primarily engaged in computing server and storage administration (with support from external vendors), website maintenance, and neuroimage processing using automatic or semi-automatic scripts, and general IT management.
