The Leidos Innovation Center (LInC) is seeking a Computational Engineer to join our growing high-performance sensors research team in the development and application of advanced sensing technologies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop physics-based numerical models of various optical sensors and systems
  • Serve as subject matter expert on modeling of optics atmospheric beam propagation and interferometry
  • Utilize commercial software such as Matlab to model relevant phenomenology and to aid understanding of experimental results
  • Help identify experiments necessary to validate and provide physics-based predictions for outcomes

Basic Qualifications

  • To be successful in this role the following must apply to you:
  • U.S.-born citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • BS in physics engineering or computer science with 4+ years experience MS with 2+ years experience or Ph.D. with 1 year experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physics and optics
  • Experience modeling optical systems using commercially available software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Scientific programming experience
  • Secret or higher security clearance

Pay Range:
