What You Will Do

The successful candidate will work as a member of the Fluid Dynamics and Solid Mechanics Group (T-3) and help develop multiphysics methods/algorithms for high-energy density physics applications. The main objective is to develop a novel highly-concurrent algorithm which is suitable for future high-performance computer architectures. The candidate will use LANLs computational framework developed under the Next-generation code (NGC/Ristra) and Next-generation platform (NGP) projects. The candidate is expected to communicate results through periodic meeting emails internal reports and/or technical publications.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Fluent in common software packages like Microsoft ( Excel Word Powerpoint Outlook )

  • Fluent in one or more computer languages such as C++ Fortran Python etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a term environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in high-energy density physics

  • Experience in radiation transport method developments

Education Required:

A B.S. in engineering physics mathematics or a related technical field

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
