The Position The Computational Chemistry and Cheminformatics group seeks an experienced, self-driven software engineer to help design, test and deliver software applications that assist in discovering ground breaking therapeutics. You will join an interdisciplinary team of scientists and software engineers at our South San Francisco, CA research headquarters. The successful candidate will apply knowledge of modern software technologies to complex informatics problems in a dynamic research environment. Software projects will involve analyzing the needs of small molecule R&D groups and translating the requirements into robust and scalable software solutions. Qualifications: You have demonstrated proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java or Python You have a masters degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field You have taken organic chemistry as an undergraduate or have equivalent experience You have strong interpersonal and technical communication skills. You have designed and maintained data models in relational databases. You have at least 3 years of experience within the full software development lifecycle from planning through deployment and maintenance Experience with cheminformatics algorithms and software is preferred
