NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range:
$101,400 - $201,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Work as a part of a code development team to develop, verify, and validate accuracy and performance of state-of-the-art electromagnetic codes running on the NNSA's high performance computing platforms
Collaborate on basic research with interdisciplinary teams comprised of analysts across Sandia, other NNSA laboratories, and universities toward understanding of complex electromagnetic phenomena
Report on analysis results via internal briefings, internal reports, publications, and/or conference presentations

Qualifications We Require:
Ph.D. degree in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, physics or a closely related field
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
Experience in C++ development and collaborative development environments
Strong mathematical and analysis background with strong electromagnetic theory, analysis, modeling, and/or simulation background
Publications or presentations demonstrating experience with developing numerical simulations or first-principles models for complex physical processes |
