In this role you will

  • Conduct moderately complex to complex research in the areas of alloy design and alloy properties modeling.
  • Propose, implement, and test new CALPHAD-based models and databases.
  • Develop and apply ICME approaches for alloy design on LLNL supercomputers.
  • Contribute to the development, validation, and maintenance of microstructure evolution simulation codes (phase-field, cellular automata).
  • Independently execute simulations to answer specific scientific questions. Collect and analyze resulting datasets, and interface with experimentalists to validate and/or refine models.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to accomplish research goals.
  • Prepare written analyses, verbal briefings, and other products that capture and communicate results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
