The Position Start Date: Summer 2020 Work Hours: 40 hours per week Location: South San Francisco Campus Length of Assignment: 3 months Education Level: Bachelor of Science (Sophomore Level or Higher, or Recent Grad) Preferred Majors: Chemistry or Computer Science Project Description: Student will perform Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations on large libraries of compounds, extract valuable information from the outputs, and process the data into a readable format for chemists to access. Will need to work with Chemists, Computational Chemists, and Software Engineers. Through the process the student will learn about physical organic chemistry and how it relates to compound reactivity. Intern Qualifications: Programming and/or Python scripting skills preferred Organic Chemistry knowledge Experience with QM software preferred (Gaussian, Spartan, Jaguar, etc.)
