How will you make an impact? Contributes to drug development efforts by applying computational engineering/chemistry approaches such molecular dynamics simulations, discrete element method (DEM) analysis and computational fluid dynamics, QSAR/ADMET models. What will you do? Supports pharmaceutical Computational Chemists in the Applied Research and Development department. Develops understanding of drug delivery and formulation techniques and processes and applies knowledge to computational methods. Leverages working knowledge of drug development and related engineering concepts and processes. Writes/executes code for computational platform. Communicates and collaborates with computational chemists/engineers and other members of cross-functional project teams. Handles multiple early stage drug development projects. Assists scientists with development, planning, execution, analysis and communication of computer models. Performs data searches in open literature and internal databases. Obtains, analyzes, evaluates, interprets and summarizes technical data. How will you get here? Education Ph.D. in computational engineering/chemistry, or related field is required. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Experience Programming experience in scripting languages. Experience with web application and database design. Basic knowledge of organic chemistry. Demonstrated professional experience in Pharmaceutical engineering, development and processing strongly desired. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Demonstrated skill in computer-assisted drug-development using computational software. State-of-the-art knowledge of standard and advanced computational engineering/chemistry methods and software (e.g. molecular dynamics, discrete element analysis, computational fluid dynamics). Ability to write/execute code for computational platform. Ability to effectively collaborate with computational chemists/engineers and other members of cross-functional project teams.
