Moderna is seeking a talented co-op/intern with an interest in molecular modeling or protein engineering to help us develop, implement and benchmark protein and/or RNA simulations. The student will be mentored by a computational protein engineer within the Molecular Engineering and Modeling Department. Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Physics majors with programming or computational modeling experience are encouraged to apply. Here’s What You’ll Do: Read the academic literature to understand state-of-the-art structural design algorithms and simulation methods. Prototype, implement, and benchmark algorithms for molecular modeling and/or design. Integrate code into platform codebase. Learn and apply standard software engineering practices for documentation, testing, and version control. Present methods and results to the team. Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table: Minimum GPA of 3.5. Currently enrolled Junior, Senior, or graduate student. Previous co-op or intern experience preferred. A fundamental understanding of chemistry and physics is essential. Basic programming and Linux skills are required. Python or MATLAB programming is a plus. Protein modeling experience is preferred but not required.
