We are seeking an experienced Computational Scientist who will apply computational methods to obtain structural models from cryo-EM data including docking and molecular model building guided by structural biology data, to support Gandeeva Drug Discovery Programs.

Responsibilities:

• engage closely with CADD teams and medicinal chemists in communicating derived atomic structures from experimental cryo-EM data and computational models
  
• provide informed insights to aid development and implementation of methods to evaluate structural and functional relationships of proteins based on cryo-EM density maps and other structural features
• implement strategic approaches for structural analyses for novel targets, maintaining awareness of the cutting edge of technologies
• actively engage in improving the speed and accuracy of the processing workflow to reduce the time from data acquisition to final map
• perform other related duties as required and as assigned

Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant biological field, with 5 or more years of relevant experience in the life sciences or biotechnology sector using cryo-EM
• relevant experience in IT, life sciences, computational biology or computer science
• must have a deep understanding and experience in single particle analysis
• be an expert in using single particle image processing programs (cryosparc, relion and others)
• be able to create customized scripts to optimize image processing on a project-by-project basis
• must have familiarity with molecular modelling as applied to ligand docking
• must demonstrate and work to a high level of personal and professional integrity and ethics
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• excellent attention to detail with strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
• excellent time management skills with the strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• must be an independent, self starter who is also an excellent team player with the flexibility to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
