Job Description:

At the Label-free Bioimaging Laboratory, King’s College London, a prestigious European Research Council (ERC) funded vacancy exists for a Post Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA). The prospective PDRA will operate as part of the ERC team. The aim of the presently available PDRA is to drive forward a new paradigm of Raman technology that enables comprehensive molecular characterisation of cancers using machine learning. The ideal applicant will have either experience in machine learning in the Matlab or Python environment or bioengineering and spectroscopy. We also welcome applications from related fields: imaging, chemistry, physics, electronics etc.

Key activities relate to characterisation of tissues and development of deep learning for molecular analysis. The recruited individual will complement our multidisciplinary team working on Raman spectroscopy for optical biopsy. The post involves close and active collaboration with researchers, engineers, and clinicians. Working and collecting data for analysis with established platforms already present within our teams is of paramount importance to ensure project cohesion and strong links with the members of the team. It is expected that the individual is highly independent and self-motivated. The PDRA will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary group in a fully equipped optics lab at King’s College London working on various aspects of optical microscopy, disease characterisation and translational biophotonics.

This post is Full-Time will be offered on an a fixed-term contract for 18 months in the first instance.
