What You Will Do
Join our world class computing organization! Experience Information Technology (XIT) division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Windows and/or Mac OS X System Administrator for our Tier 1 Service Desk. Our diverse team consists of approximately 24 professionals technicians and students. As a remote desktop support professional you will provide day-to-day technical support services to a broad customer base in a heterogeneous computing environment.
As a member of the Service Desk Team you will perform the full spectrum of remote and telephone support on Windows and Mac systems mobile devices and other LANL business applications including but not limited to:
Computing Systems Tec 4 (CST-4) ($64400 - $102300)
The successful candidate will perform the full spectrum of remote Windows Mac and/or Linux desktop administration including but not limited to:
Support computer systems on the unclassified network
TicketMaster role and responsibilities
Resolve issues or fulfill requests through remote desktop support
Configuring and troubleshooting desktop or mobile systems workstations and network issues including wireless and role-based access control in a heterogeneous environment
Installation and troubleshooting of software and/or operating systems
Computing Systems Tec 5 (CST-5) ($71000 - $112700)
The successful candidate will perform the following including but not limited to:

Provide technical leadership and knowledge in support of a well-managed computing environment
Research new hardware and software tools and solutions
Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
Practice Information Architecture processes and standards
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Demonstrated experience of Windows Mac and or Linux desktop administration
Experience solving software and hardware issues
Experience troubleshooting problems using Bomgar SCCM Remote or similar desktop automation systems to remotely administer systems
Experience with hardware or software hard drive encryption and software file encryption
Experience implementing network security measures
Significant experience using a call tracking system including using it to resolve user issues
Extensive experience interacting with customers and peers in a professional and responsive manner
Exceptional work ethics and time management
Understanding and adhering to all Laboratory policies procedures and standards
Additional Job Requirements for Computing Systems Tec 5:
In addition to the requirements outlined above qualification at the higher level requires:
Experience solving complex software and hardware issues in a heterogeneous computing environment
Experience using configuration management tools
Extensive experience interacting with customers and peers in a professional and responsive manner and giving presentations
Experience implementing Best Practice processes and standards
Experience troubleshooting problems remotely using Bomgar SSH or similar desktop automation systems to remotely administer systems
Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a High School diploma or equivalency and 4-6 years directly related experience; or; an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Technical Institute graduation or AA degree may be preferred.
Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a High School diploma or equivalency and 6 years directly related experience; or; an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level additional training certification and/or education may be expected including associates degrees and graduation from technical institutions.
Desired Qualifications:
Location: This position will be part of the Laboratorys Telework Pilot and may work from a remote/home location within a two-hour ground commute of the Laboratory. Employee participation in the Telework Pilot may be shortened or extended at the managers discretion. Ability to report on-site is a must for this position.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.
Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. SeeDOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
426.2: This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2 Personnel Selection Training and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
