Computational Analyst Summer Intern 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role Computational Analyst Intern are to: 

  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary computational science team to collect user requirements develop specifications and verify functionality and usefulness of the proposed analytical and technological solutions prior to full development;
  • Identify and optimize a use case in the Oncology clinical development operations environment by utilizing Machine Learning / Natural Language processing (NLP) or Natural Language Generation (NLG) methodologies;

  • Provide statistical programming support to develop data science applications based on clinical datasets to solve complex data problems and develop new data services for our customers in Oncology SBU R&D;
  • Support preparation of the documentation of newly developed data science applications;
  • At the end of the internship the intern will present their research project to the Oncology Data Analytics department and few team members from other functions.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Master’s or Ph.D. program in Computer Science Computer Engineering Mathematics Biomedical Informatics Information Systems or related quantitative fields;
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication & interpersonal skills;
  • A good understanding of Statistics Data analysis data visualization or related field as demonstrated by current or prior coursework or independent research experience;
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: R / R-Shiny Python SAS;
  • Familiarity with data transformations visualization analysis and predictive modeling;
  • Must be available to work full time from May/June through August/September 2022.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Machine learning and/or NLP/NLG experience;
  • Experience with web development (HTML JavaScript etc.)
  • Good knowledge of Knowledge graphs and linked data.
