Assistant Professor of Computational and Data Sciences (CDS) George Mason University, Korea, invites applications for a full-time position in Computational and Data Sciences at the assistant rank, starting in February 2022. The individual serving in this position will be responsible for teaching intermediate and advanced courses in computational and data sciences. Service activities will include coordinating with course developers in the CDS department in the U.S. as well as supporting Mason Korea as an academic unit. The compensation package is competitive, and all international hires include support for relocation expenses, furnished housing, home leave allowance, health insurance in Korea’s excellent health care system, and dependent tuition benefit. The expected term is one year, with further opportunity for renewal and multi-year contracts. Required Qualification Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in Computational, Data Sciences, or a related field; Experience in teaching courses in scientific databases and scientific and statistical visualization; and Evidence of teaching excellence at the college level. Preferred qualifications: Experience in teaching with R, Python, Matlab, Fortran, and MySQL; and Experience in developing course materials.
