Term Assistant Professor, Computational Data Science The George Mason University, Department of Computational and Data Sciences (CDS) in the College of Science invites applications for a full-time, term faculty position at the Term Assistant Professor level. This is a term position and not eligible for tenure. Position Responsibilities: Starting in January 2022, the individual serving in this position will be responsible for teaching four courses per semester, maintaining the design of a multi-section undergraduate course, and managing the student assistant program. A majority of the teaching load will be dedicated to in-person and on-line versions of a freshman level course on scientific programming. Service to the university will include management of student assistants and contributing the management of adjunct instructors. While this position does not include research responsibilities, candidates are able to conduct research and lead research projects. Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a masters degree in Data Science or Computational Science; Applicants are expected to have experience in Matlab and Python. Preferred Qualifications: Applicants with previous course development experience are preferred; Preference will be given to those with a doctorate degree. About the Department: CDS is an interdisciplinary department with major research directions in Modeling and Simulation, Data Science, and Computational Social Science.
