Job Description:

Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in computational science and engineering (CS&E). We seek candidates at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, with potential for multiple hires. This position is anticipated to be hired at the Assistant Professor rank; however, qualified candidates may be considered at the Associate Professor or Professor rank. CS&E is a multidisciplinary field that includes foundational technologies such as scalable algebraic solvers and optimization algorithms, discretization, and uncertainty quantification, with applications in fields such as computational mechanics, biological and chemical systems, and earth systems. Software engineering and programming technologies play an integral role in the successful demonstration and deployment of CS&E. We view CS&E holistically, and this search seeks to grow foundational CS&E research and education while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations with other departments and institutes at CU Boulder as well as area labs.
The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. We are an Equal Opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.

CU Boulder is currently home to a PSAAP Multidisciplinary Simulation Center and has extensive connections with Sandia and Los Alamos National Labs as well as other DOE labs.

CU Boulder is among the most research-active public universities in the country, and the College of Engineering and Applied Science is the second largest school or college on the CU Boulder campus. We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and academically excellent community. Our college recently updated its strategic vision to include three core foci: (i) Research & Innovation, (ii) Education, and (iii) Inclusion. We assert that a diverse faculty is necessary for achieving these goals and implementing our campus diversity plan. We believe that our college’s success requires faculty who actively work to create an inclusive culture within the college.
