SNC-Lavalin is currently looking for Senior CFD Analyst to join our engineering team in Mississauga, Ontario.

How will you contribute to the team?

 

This position requires an individual who is self-motivated and capable of working independently or with other senior CFD analysts and is ready to develop his/her career and experience in nuclear field. The candidate shall be able to work collaboratively with other groups to complete the assigned CFD analysis to support existing process design work.


The qualified individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Perform CFD analysis on complex systems as directed by the projects;
  • Prepare reports based on analyses and findings;
  • Support design solutions and assessments for new, updated and modified process systems, structures and components;
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers at lower grade levels and/or other technical employees;
  • Coordinate and review the work of engineers and support employees;
  • Ensure applicable code, standards and regulatory requirements are met;
  • Ensure adherence to company quality program;
  • Ensure adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule;
  • Support Engineering Management with timely updates on engineering progress;
  • Interface with internal and external stake holders as required.

What will you contribute?

  • Masters Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science.
  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in CFD analysis, preferably providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants or BWR/PWR markets; and
  • Must have excellent technical and practical skills to resolve engineering issues or technical problems;
  • Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design; e.g., Ansys Fluent, Aspen HYSYS.
  • Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0 and ASME Section III.
  • Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME B31.1 codes and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems;
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; and
  • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC)
