Grad Intern – R&D (Computational Chemistry)

Live

This could be your everyday

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will develop machine learning-based tools for efficient conformational sampling of both small molecules and protein-ligand complexes. You will also have the opportunity to apply the tools you develop to drive drug discovery projects, by providing fast and accurate estimates of protein-ligand binding free energies. These tools will play an important role in guiding small molecule discovery and will be developed with mentorship from computational/medicinal chemists, data scientists, and machine learning engineers. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Understand and build upon an existing python package for conformational sampling using normalizing flows

  • Develop new capabilities to include multiple entities in the conformational search process using internal coordinate mapping

  • Further improve sampling efficiency using attention mechanism or other techniques

  • Develop techniques to estimate or rank protein-ligand binding affinities based on the generated conformational ensembles

  • Hold regular result sharing presentations and discussion with other members of the team
