Job Description:
Dr Andrew Kao from the Computational Science and Engineering Group (CSEG) within the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences is seeking to employ a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow for three years on the Greenwich led EPSRC project “Tailored Microstructures via Thermoelectric-Magnetohydrodynamics for Additive Manufacturing (TEAM)” in collaboration with UCL. The role will be on the computational modelling side, developing software to address the flow development in melt pools due to the interaction between magnetic fields and thermoelectric currents and its effect on the evolution of microstructure during solidification. The simulations, run in parallel with experiments at UCL, will involve Lattice Boltzmann methods adopted on our High-Performance Computing Cluster.
