About the role…
We are looking for a computational scientist who can incorporate your knowledge of computational biophysics and data analytics and apply it to drug discovery. You will develop cutting edge physics-based computational methods to investigate dynamic proteins while deploying robust computational workflows to the drug discovery team. Through this role, you will be exposed to all stages of drug discovery and sharpen your skills in computational chemistry and data science.
In this role you will...
- Develop and deploy computational methods and workflows to study conformationally flexible proteins, identify novel binding sites, and rationalize ligand selectivity.
- Implement and apply computational chemistry, molecular design, and data analysis workflows to accelerate MOMA’s molecule design cycle. Interact closely with data engineers, medicinal chemists, and biologists to validate computational workflows and impact drug discovery programs.
- Develop scalable and secure data infrastructure supporting data engineering and data science workflows – convert research into production processes.
- Work collaboratively across diverse functions to achieve corporate goals.
About you:
- You have a PhD in physics, computational chemistry/biophysics, computer science or related field.
- You have a strong understanding of computational biophysical approaches, e.g. molecular dynamics, enhanced sampling methods, free energy calculation and quantum mechanics. Extensive experience with one or multiple simulation packages such as AMBER, GROMACS, OpenMM.
- You are proficient in Python and its data science ecosystem, have interacted with databases, flat files, and APIs for data sources, and have gone from concept and notebook to production deployment.
- You have experience working in a cloud environment (AWS), containerization (Docker), distributed compute (Dask, Nextflow, SLURM) and discernment on appropriate utilizations of such services
- You enjoy the journey of building and implementing process as much as the science.

- Preferably, you have experience in supporting drug discovery programs, analyzing and virtual screening of large chemical library
