Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a talented computational engineer, physicist or mathematician to provide computational support for modeling and simulation of advanced and complex RF systems. What you’ll do as a Junior Computational Research Scientist: Under general supervision design, develop, troubleshoot, and analyze software programs. Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. Provide inputs for documentation of new or existing programs Participate in CEM software development and verification and validation (V&V) activities on projects such as CREATE-RF SENTRi Primarily interface with intra-organizational staff with infrequent contact with inter-organizational staff and outside customers and vendors on routine matters. Requirements for a Junior Computational Research Scientist: BS in CS, CEG, EE, or related field, and 0 to 2 years’ experience Be able to summarize or describe progress or tasks in technical reports and develop technical presentations. The ability to work and collaborate with other engineers and scientists. Preferences for a Junior Computational Research Scientist: Working knowledge of C/C++, Python, Matlab, Fortran, and Linux Experience with source code version control tools such as git and continuous integration software such as Jenkins Experience with numerical methods such as linear algebra methods, the finite element method, the boundary integral method, etc. Experience with parallel programming techniques for supercomputers such as MPI and OpenMP parallelization Experience in computational electromagnetics Company & Division Information The work environment and atmosphere in BRD’s Computational Physical Sciences (CPS) Group has been compared to a fast-paced graduate school.
