$86300 - $166800

*Salary range is estimated and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to serve as an engineer and architect for a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering high-impact national security systems. The successful candidates will design and implement solutions in the areas of information technology hyper converged infrastructure security architectures network engineering and software architectures. In this position you will develop solutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity analysis and out of the box thinking to solve some of our nations most critical security needs. Join us to develop the 7th generation United States Nuclear Detonation Detection System (USNDS) and develop creative solutions to unique national security challenges!

On any given day you will be asked to:

  • Research and prototype solutions based on requirements fit and feasibility.
  • Architect solutions and systems to meet operational and development needs.
  • Develop and integrate solutions as a part of a larger operational ground system and development environment to enable national security missions.
  • Install hardware and configure various components of an overall system delivery.
  • Mentor and guide teammates and promote innovative ideas and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Think with an enterprise approach to ensure a complete product is delivered.

Due to the nature of the work the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems computer science computer engineering or a related field with experience in systems administration or IT systems development; OR equivalent education and experience (no degree + 8 years' relevant experience)
  • Experience in architecting complete computer solutions system design engineering and system development including familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with UNIX Linux or Windows Server-based enterprise architectures
  • Experience with one or more of the following: hardware and operating systems system architectures network infrastructures and/or clientserver principles
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Master's degree in related STEM field (e.g. Computer Science Computer Engineering)
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle using iterative or agile methodologies
  • Experience with automation orchestration continuous integration/ continuous delivery including such tools as Ansible Puppet Docker GitLab CI Jenkins Nexus etc.
  • Experience applying Test Driven Development (TDD) principles and automated testing (e.g. Selenium Cucumber Gherkin)
  • Experience with common software architectures (e.g. microservices distributed architecture models etc.)
  • Experience with container technologies using tools such as Docker Kubernetes etc.
  • Experience with Linux server-based system administration. (e.g. account maintenance data backups system performance maintenance installation and configuration of new hardware/software)
  • Experience reading interpreting writing modifying and executing scripts (e.g. Python Bash PowerShell) on Windows or Unix systems
  • Experience with virtual machines and cloud technologies (e.g. Microsoft Hyper-V VMWare vSphere Open Stack AWS Azure etc.)
  • Knowledge of computer networking fundamentals (e.g. networks devices ports/protocols addressing routing network access identity and access management and authentication)
  • Knowledge of secure configuration management techniques (e.g. STIGs) and secure software development and deployment practices
  • Experience in fixing failed software or system components (e.g. servers processes etc.) and identifying possible causes for system performance degradation or availability and initiating actions to mitigate this degradation
  • Skill in identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance availability capacity or configuration problems relative to the goals of the system
  • Experience developing testing troubleshooting and deploying large-scale systems for managing processing and disseminating data from disparate data sources
  • Experience with large multi-organizational multi-discipline projects with emphasis on satellite or other aerospace systems
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • Active DOE clearance

Security Clearance:
