Job Description:
I am looking for two Ph.D. students to join my group next year beginning in Fall 2023. Potential students are expected to work at the intersection of damage and fracture mechanics modeling, and ML/AI techniques. The research topics are planned to be flexible and the outcomes are applicable to various classes of materials and applications.
Required Qualifications:
-M.S. in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or related field, with demonstrated experience in computational mechanics (check specific program requirements)
-Proficiency in programming using Python, Fortran, C/C++, or other
-Excellent academic record through their BS and MS
-Excellent written and communication skills
In addition to the above, priority will be given to:
-Students with demonstrated research skills, especially if documented through publications
-Students with a background in ML/AI methods
-Students with a passion for “MECHANICS”
