We are seeking an experienced Principal Scientist, Computational Chemistry to join a stealth mode computation and AI powered small molecule drug discovery biotech based in Princeton, New Jersey, which aims to build a world class computational drug discovery platform by merging physics-based modeling and modern AI/machine learning technologies, while fully utilising an industry-leading high-performance computing resource. With a team of highly accomplished drug hunters, empowered by and tightly integrated with the platform, we strive to discover breakthrough medicines. This role is on a remote-basis.
Responsibilities:
Apply state-of-the-art computation-powered drug design techniques to design and optimise candidate molecules to achieve desired potency and properties, in close collaboration with our medicinal chemistry colleagues.
Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and implementation of innovative computational approaches that improve research productivity and success, in close collaboration with our technology development colleagues.
Independently design, develop and execute research plans, contributing to multiple projects.
Qualifications:
PhD in Computational Chemistry or related fields, with three or more publications.
Significant accomplishments and demonstrated creativity in small molecule drug designs with a several years' industrial experience.
Understanding of computational chemistry principles and their application within a multidisciplinary drug discovery environment.
Broad experience in a variety of computational chemistry methods, including molecular dynamics, quantum chemistry, protein modeling, etc.
Working knowledge of physical and organic chemistry, retrosynthetic design, physical chemical properties, biological assays, and PKDM properties.
Proficiency in scientific scripting and programming languages, preferably Python.
Familiarity with standard modeling software.
A successful candidate will have strong communication skill and an enabling attitude, be a problem solver and have a desire to work in a collaborative manner in a team environment.
