Research Fellow (Computational Electrochemistry)

School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.

Job Responsibilities

• Actively work on computation/simulations to provide deep understanding of the electrochemical properties including but not limited to ion adsorption/desorption and lattice diffusion energy barriers bandgap density of states

• Management of lab and project issues including equipment procurement reimbursement and other related paperwork

• Contribute mainly to the computation/simulations studies of the electrochemistry in the thermogalvanic cell

• Provide computation support to the research group on various electrochemical processes

• Develop proposals based on the results of this project for external grants

• Make regular progress report to Principal Investigator

Job Requirements

• Ph.D. Degree in either material sciences or physics from QS top100 universities

• Highly motivated by grand challenges in multidisciplinary subjects

• Fast learner and excited to learn about other disciplines

• Demonstrated track-record of scientific productivity particularly on the topic of computation for electrochemical devices (including batteries and electrocatalysis)

• Able to conduct the computation independently without heavy training or supervision

• Good team player who is capable and willing to provide supports in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
