Job Role Summary We are looking to hire candidates to work on challenging engineering and geological problems within our upstream business that focuses on exploration, development, production and marketing and transportation of hydrocarbons. Specific areas of interest for this position include the application of computational geometry and programming skills to tackle a range of problems involving complex geometries in reservoir modeling. Job Responsibilities: Work with geologists, engineers, and computational scientists to develop, enhance, support and maintain computational geometry algorithms and simulation software Tasks may involve developing efficient algorithms for surface modeling, solid modeling, 3D reconstruction, model parameterization and editing, grid/mesh generation, and feature propagation for simulation Integrate complex computational applications with engineering and geoscience software for geological modeling, field development planning, and reservoir management Improve the performance of computational frameworks and scientific computing tools Job Requirements: Master’s degree (preferred) from a recognized university in Engineering, Computer Science, CAD, or Applied Mathematics with GPA 7.0 (out of 10.0) and above Professional / graduate level work experience in developing computational geometry tools and algorithms Strong object-oriented programming skills/experience in C++ are required Basic knowledge of vector algebra is required Solid understanding of common algorithms and data-structures is an advantage Experience on numerical simulation (e.g., Finite Element Analysis, Discontinuous Galerkin Method, or Computational Fluid Dynamics) with complex geometry is an advantage Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative environment Previous work experience in development of commercial mesh generation software is an advantage Prior experience in Python is an advantage Prior experience in writing unit/integration tests is an advantage. Experience in one or more of the following is an advantage: Software Architecture, High Performance Computing and Parallel Programming Previous work experience in the upstream oil and gas industry is an advantage Previous work experience on geological or reservoir modeling is an advantage
