Salary Range:

$99700 - $196100

*Salary range is estimated and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are looking for a computational analyst with interest in computational electromagnetics for heterogeneous architectures! Join our premier research and development group working on groundbreaking hybrid MPI+X parallel electromagnetic simulation codes aimed at novel and complex applications.

You will have opportunities to:

  • Work as a part of a code development team to develop verify and validate accuracy and performance of state-of-the-art electromagnetic codes running on the NNSA's high performance computing platforms
  • Collaborate on basic research with interdisciplinary teams comprised of analysts across Sandia other NNSA laboratories and universities toward understanding of complex electromagnetic phenomena
  • Report on analysis results via internal briefings internal reports publications and/or conference presentations

Qualifications We Require:

  • Ph.D. degree in engineering applied mathematics computer science electrical engineering physics or a closely related field
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Experience in C++ development and collaborative development environments
  • Strong mathematical and analysis background with strong electromagnetic theory analysis modeling and/or simulation background
  • Publications or presentations demonstrating experience with developing numerical simulations or first-principles models for complex physical processes

About Our Team:

Department 1352 is a multidisciplinary research group that conducts theory and simulation to support the Department of Energy's NNSA Defense Programs. The primary areas of research include analytic theory and modeling in linear electromagnetics. Our capabilities are used to advance our understanding of electromagnetic on components and systems in support of the NNSA's stockpile stewardship program. This includes the development of massively parallel electromagnetic codes under the DOE Advanced Scientific Computing program.
