Organisation Name: Gent University, Belgium
Organisation Type: Academia
City: Gent
State:
Country: Belgium
Discipline: Computational Science, Computational Chemistry, Computational Material Science

Description: Ph.D. and Postdoctoral positions are available in the area of computational catalysis, in the Laboratory for Chemical Technology, Gent University, Belgium (LCT, www.lct.ugent.be). The LCT is one of the few in the world that can claim to have bridged the molecule scale research, including computation, and the chemical plant, with strong links to industry and the history of industrial employment of the Lab alumni. LCT is developing an exciting and well-funded program for the modeling-guided design of selective catalytic processes. The focus of the program lies in computational catalysis, it will be closely integrated with experimental kinetic validation of the predictions. Requirements: Ph.D. program applicants must hold a MSc or BS in Chemical Engineering, Theoretical Physical Chemistry, Computational Material Science, or related subject, and a TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 95(iBT) or equivalent. Postdoctoral applicants need to hold PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering in the above domains, and willing to spend between 1 and 3 years at LCT can also apply for a postdoctoral position. Relevant experience in computational chemistry and/or in the area of catalysis, kinetics, and reactor engineering is preferred. Inquiries/Application: Any additional information can be obtained by contacting professor Mark Saeys (mark.saeys@ugent.be). Any application should enclose a C.V., a one page justification of your interest and the e-mail addresses of at least two references.
